How to integrate Google Sheets – ActiveCampaign bundle using Zapier?

A step by step guide for integrating Google Sheets – ActiveCampaign bundle using Zapier

1. Google Sheets setup

For this tutorial, we’re going to create a table with the following rows:

• Name
• Email
• Tags
• Organization name

Fill the rows out with required information Remember to enter a valid email address to avoid errors.

2. ActiveCampaign setup

• Register or log into your ActiveCampaign account.

How the integration works:

• A new row is created on a table in Google Sheets;
• Zapier creates a new record in ActiveCampaign’s contact list.

1. Creating a Zap. On the “Home” tab, click on “Create”: 

2. Select “Zaps”.

3. To create a trigger on Zapier, click on “Trigger” button.

4. Select the trigger app (Google Sheets in our case)

5. Select the trigger event: In “Trigger Event” field, select “New Spreadsheet Row” (fig. 1) and connect your Google Account (fig. 2 & 3) Then click on “Continue” (fig. 4)..

6. Next, fill out the required fields and click on “Continue”.

7. Next, test the trigger by clicking on the corresponding button.

8. Next, the system will find and display the information requested. If everything is okay, click on “Continue with selected record”.

9. Select the action app.

10. Select the action: In the “Action Event” field, select “Add/Update Subscriber” (fig. 1). Then connect your Mailchimp account (fig. 2, 3 & 4). Then click on ”Continue”(fig. 5).

To connect your account, go to ActiveCampaign’s site, then to Settings > Developer.

Copy your API URI and API key and paste them into Zapier, then click “Yes, Continue to ActiveCampaign”

1. Configure the action:

Connect Sheets rows to the corresponding ones on ActiveCampaign. 

• Connect “Name” field on Google Sheets to the “First Name” field on ActiveCampaign.

• Connect “Email” field on Google Sheets to the corresponding field on ActiveCampaign.

• Connect “Tags” field on Google Sheets to the corresponding field on ActiveCampaign.

• Connect “Organization Name” field on Google Sheets to the corresponding field on ActiveCampaign.

When you’ve done everything, click “Continue”.

1. Testing the integration

Click on “Test Step”, to test data transfer between Google Sheets and ActiveCampaign.

11. If the test was successful, click on “Publish”..

12. Go to your ActiveCamgaign and check if the data was received.

13. If the data was received, click on “Transfer existing data” to transfer the remaining data

14. Click on “Turn On Zap”. From now on, when you create new rows on the Sheets spreadsheet, data from them will be automatically transferred to your ActiveCampaign contact list.
