Creating a new Klaviyo user when a new row on Google Sheets is created

A step by step guide for integrating Google Sheets – Klaviyo bundle using Zapier

1.  Google Sheets setup

For this tutorial, we’re going to create a table with the following rows:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Date subscribed
  • Status

2. Klaviyo setup

Register or log into your Klaviyo account.

How the integration works:

  • Trigger: New subscriber on Klaviyo.
  • Action: Add new row on Google Sheets.
  • Example: Everytime a new subscriber appears on the list, their information is automatically added to the spreadsheet.
  1. Creating a Zap. On the “Home” tab, click on “Create”:

  1. Select “Zaps”

Adding a Trigger for Klaviyo

  1. To create a trigger on Zapier, click on “Trigger” button.

  1. Select the trigger app (Klaviyo in our case)

  1. Select the trigger event: In “Trigger Event” field, select “New Profile” and click “Continue”. Don’t forget to link your Klaviyo account.

  1. In the “Channel” field, select “Email” and click “Continue”.

  1. Next, test the trigger by clicking on the corresponding button.

  1. Next, the system will find and display the information requested. If everything is okay, click on “Continue with selected record”.

Adding Google Sheets as an action app.

  1. Select the action app.

  1. Select the action: In the “Action Event” field, select “New spreadsheet row”. Then connect your Google account. Then click on ”Continue”.

  1. Configure the action:
  • In the “Drive” field select “My Google Drive”, in “Spreadsheet” field select your spreadsheet, and in worksheet – the required worksheet in that spreadsheet.

Connect Klaviyo rows to the corresponding ones on Google Sheets, i.e

  • Name field on Klaviyo to the Name field on Google Sheets.
  • Email field on Klaviyo to the Email field on Google Sheets..
  • Date Subscribed field on Klaviyo to the Date Subscribed field on Google Sheets..

When done, click “Continue”.

  1. Testing the integration

Click on “Test Step”, to test data transfer between Klaviyo and Google Sheets.

  1. If the test was successful, click on “Publish”

  1. Go to your Google Sheets and check if the data was received.

Benefits of such integration:

  • Automatic contact management: You will always have up-to-date subscriber data in Google Sheets.
  • Personalized campaigns: Easily use data to segment audiences or plan mailings.
  • Workflow optimization: There is no need to manually update data or transfer information – everything is done automatically.
