How to integrate HubSpot – MixPanel bundle using Zapier?

in Integrations |

Make sure HubSpot and Mixpanel are connected to Zapier and use it to automatically create profiles for new contacts. Simplify data management and enrich your customer data in no time.

Creating a new profile on Mixpanel when a new contact is created on HubSpot.

How the integration works:

  • A new company on HubSpot is created
  • Zapier creates/updates the person’s profile depending on the selected distinct_id

  1. Creating a Zap. On the Dashboard tab, select “HubSpot” and “Mixpanel” and click “Make a Zap”

Configuring the trigger event

  1. Selecting the trigger event. A trigger event is a certain action in the trigger app that tells Zapier to activate the Zap. Select the “New Contact” option in the dropdown menu and click “Continue”. This way, the trigger will only activate when a new contact is added to your HubSpot.

  1. Select your HubSpot account and click “Continue”

  1. Click on “Continue”. You can add additional properties to retrieve in the box above the button.

  1. Test the trigger by clicking on the corresponding “Test trigger” button.

  1. The system should then find the contact and display all the information available in their profile. If everything is correct, click on “Continue”

Setting up the action on Mixpanel

  1. In the next dialogue box, select the action to execute when a new contact is created. In our case, select “Create or Update Profile” in the dropdown menu and click “Continue”

  1. Connect your Mixpanel account. Mixpanel should offer you to use a token, which you should copy and paste into the “Allow Zapier to access your Mixpanel account?” dialogue box. Click on “Yes, Continue” on Mixpanel and then “Continue” on Zapier.

  1. Next, you need to set up the connection between Mixpanel and HubSpot. Fill in all of the required fields in which the data should be imported and click “Continue”. Mixpanel stores information in its unique way. For example, for a user profile, properties could be things like their email address, where they came from, or their age. These properties allow you to drill down to very specific user/customer segments and learn more. Information is stored and sent as key-value pairs, where the key is the property name and the value is the value of it.

  1. Then, you need to test the connection between HubSpot and Mixpanel. If everything is done correctly, you should be able to see the test data on Mixpanel.

  1. Click on “Publish Zap”

After that, the Zap is set up, configured, and active.
